🍾 Flying corks can cause serious injuries and a warm bottle poses a greater risk than a chilled bottle. The bubbles inside the bottle expand as the temperature rises, and the cork of a warm bottle is more likely to pop unexpectedly.

🍾 Champagne bottles contain more air pressure than a car tire and can launch a cork at 80km/h—fast enough to shatter glass, fast enough to damage eyesight.

🍾 Technique is crucial. Point the bottle at a 45-degree angle away from you and everyone else and hold the cork down while removing the wire hood from the bottle. Use a fabric material to place over the entire top of the bottle as you grasp the cork and twist the bottle to loosen it.
